The Three Sisters is one of three paintings I rendered of Rolley Lake area. This is a beautiful location located in western Mission near Dewdney Trunk Road. It is a unique location with its trail that circles the entire lake for easy, level hiking. In the summer, people swim, picnic, kayak, canoe, fish, and camp here.
I thought the scene looking south with the three Western Hemlock saplings struggling for survival in the foreground made a good contrast to the linear backdrop of the tree line and the lakeshore. To the north is the start of the coastal mountains whereas to the south, the view has a wide open sky. I have witnessed many beautiful cloud formations and sunsets from this vantage point, especially in the early evening sky. This is a nice place to visit and to camp.
