Discovering Local Natural History
My recent art focus is the exploration of local natural history. Over the last two-and-half years, I have been driving up to 2-hours from where I reside for the purpose of seeking out inspiration for my art. This includes numerous lakes, streams, forests, and mountainous regions. Within a 2-hour drive, I can be walking above the tree-line in alpine meadows, or walking along a sandy ocean shoreline. The Vancouver Regional District is uniquely positioned between many such ecosystems. The beauty of nature is only a short distance away, waiting to be discovered and rendered into art.
