ERIC HOTZ: ART CLASSES AT LANGLEY ARTS COUNCIL
With my first class, I taught my students a few watercolour techniques to get them introduced to watercolour painting. We worked using salt texturing, liquid masking, and I taught how to create stars with star burst effects. The watercolour painting they created was a blue colour themed piece that allowed them to focus more on painting techniques than mixing colours. This was a fun exercise that fitted comfortably into a 2-hour class. Samples of the final art can be viewed in the photos below.

Teaching watercolour painting and techniques demo to my students.
Each student creates their own interpretation of the assignment. You learn a lot from how everyone works.
Wearing masks and social distancing is important in my classes. Everyone must be safe and feel safe.
My students working on today's project: watercolour techniques!
Students are encouraged to experiment with any techniques and colours.
Art reference for the painting was provided but students may take their art in any direction.
