I have had a fascination with fungi since my father would take me on mushroom hunts sponsored by the Natural History Society of Vancouver. On many rainy days, the best weather to out in looking for mushrooms, I would go out on weekends to various parks in Vancouver, such as Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in North Vancouver, looking for mushrooms to identify. In my area, there are many parks where mushrooms can be found in a wide range of varieties and colours, especially in the Fall months but also in the early months of Spring. I discovered this cluster of Mushrooms in Cliff Park, Maple Ridge, British Columbia. This grouping had emerged out of an embankment under a cluster of deciduous trees and shrubs along with one of the park's many graveled pathways. Mushrooms abound here in the moist air during Fall and early Spring.
