Medieval Warriors. I enjoyed illustrating this commission. I was asked to create six pieces depicting gritty medieval warriors. The resulting illustrations consumed quite a bit of ink and took between 4 to 5 hours to complete each. I used three different sized tech pens to render them and had to stop several times to refill the pens with ink. Although 4 to 5 hours may seem a long time to work on a piece, I worked at breakneck speed due to the project's tight time deadline. As a result, I couldn't get the ink onto the paper fast enough. The publisher later commissioned me to illustrate two more figures for their next book. In all, I worked for this publisher for 14 years.
