In the summer of 2020, I partook in an evening of Plein Air painting at Loon Lake (Maple Ridge), British Columbia, Canada. The event started at 7 pm and ended at 9 pm. There were around 12 people sitting on a dock about 10 feet apart from each other on deck chairs and our art supplies. We could create whatever we desired. Crackers with cheese and fruit were provided. Most people chose to use render in watercolours. I chose acrylics on unstretched watercolour paper. My results was a quick acrylic sketch rendering of what was directly across from where I sat. I caught the setting sun in my painting as it danced across the treetops. Despite the appearance in my painting, Loon Lake is actually quite large lake and, unfortunately, a private lake. Its owned by UBC and it's access is by invitation only.
