The Letter "I". This piece was one of several artistic, medieval-style letter, renderings I was asked to create for a book. Each piece was to be a unique artistic letter that would be used as the first letter of each paragraph (a drop-cap) of each new chapter in the book. The end size, once printed, is around 1.5-inches square, so it is quite small. The artwork was rendered at around 4-inches square. This was a fun project and was one of the few projects I have been able to work on that mimics the artwork monks created in their monasteries. Working away in my studio, I felt like a monk, working in solitude on my illuminated manuscripts.
