Kanaka Creek is just down the street from where I live in Maple Ridge. It is an easy 2-minute drive and is well worth a visit especially if you are a photographer or an artist.
I first ventured into this park when I was 14 years and have walked along its length through Cliff Park many times, It is a heavily wooded park with excellent trails, good washrooms, and a large picnic table areas. The best part of this park is it's uniqueness featuring many interesting scenes for painting. The park has been in existence for over 100 years and at its east end features the Bell Irving Fish Hatchery.
Kanaka Creek flows down from Blue Mountain, which is crosses Dewdney Trunk at 272nd street. My painting shows the creek next to where the fish hatchery is located
