. Gold Creek at the last hour of sunlight, also known as the Golden Hour! This creek is located in Golden Ears Provincial Park, BC, Canada, and flows into Alouette Lake. I hiked along Gold Creek when I was 7 years old and have ever since. This was the first place I ever hiked while wearing proper hiking boots. This location is a memorable, if rugged, location, surrounded by mountains and trees. During the 1858 Gold Rush, it was thought this creek might be gold-bearing, so it was named appropriately, although gold was never discovered along its course. However, gold was discovered in the region, just never in large quantities.
