Medieval Battle: Evil vs Good. Over the years, I have been asked to render a number of medieval-style woodcut images for various book series. This piece was just one of these images and took a bit of time to complete, and despite its subject matter, I like how it turned out. Traditionally, such artwork was used to scare the viewer into remaining pious. People who had the privilege of owning such books were usually the most wealthy in society. The poor would rarely have seen such books let alone the artwork. Apparently, piety was a big problem in medieval Europe.
