The Beaver Pond painting was a chance discover while I was out adventuring for landscapes to paint. The location is Smuggler's Cove Provincial Park located along the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, Canada. This is one of the most beautiful parks to visit with its many paintable scenes waiting to be discovered. I can render many paintings from this one area. It is an amazingly interesting place to study for its effects of light on water and reflections. It reminded me of how the ancient fens of Europe must have felt and appeared. I spent over 3-hours exploring this region, making notes, sketches, and taking photos. It is truly a beautiful location with so much potential with its coastal shoreline coves and wetlands interior. It is vast and varied.
