Winter Forest No.1 painting depicts Cliff Park (Maple Ridge, BC) in winter at the tailend of a snowstorm. This was a rare opportunity to journey into a local park during a snowstorm where nine inches of snow had fallen within a few hours creating a beautiful and unique winter landscape painting opportunity. Normally, this park sees a modest number of people during any day but while it was snowing there were suddenly large numbers of people walking about. I had to avoid these people as I walked about taking photos. I ended up staying just over an hour before heading home. Luckily, I live just a short distance away and did not need my car to venture here. By next morning, it was raining and the winter scene had changed dramatically. It was a rare, well timed event that I was lucky to take advantage of before the snow was gone.
