Deer Lake Trail No.2

Picture

I grew up a few blocks from Deer Lake and Burnaby Lake. Both share a similar landscape, a forested marshland, which reminds one of the ancient fens of Europe during the time before the Druids. Both lakes have similar vegetation. Burnaby Lake is larger than Deer Lake with denser woodlands along its trails. While walking along the trails of Deer Lake, you will often be able to see the lake while Burnaby Lake is hidden from view due to the thick groves of trees that line its shores. Growing up close to Burnaby Lake, I often walked along its trails from Piper Street all the way to Sperling Avenue.

When I find myself in Burnaby with a little time to spare, I will often walk around Deer Lake. There are many potential paintings hidden throughout this park. It is a world quite different from other city parks.
