Cultus Lake (Honeymoon Bay) was a place where my family went on picnics in the off season. For this reason, I will always associate Cultus Lake with rain. It was almost always cloudy and raining when we went here and usually in the company of visiting relatives. It was only later in life that I was able to go here in the summer. What I like about this lake is that it is one of the few local lakes that allows you to see the sun setting into the West. Most local lakes the offer views of looking North or East.
The lake is unusual because if you go up into the surrounding mountains, you are in wilderness and somethines in logged out areas. You will hear hunters here in the Fall.
