Most of the paintings on my website have been shown in various art galleries over the last 2-years, while all of my other art pieces are published commissions that I have created over the last 25+ years.

MY RECENT PAINTINGSThe medium I am most fond of working with is acrylic paint mixed with black ink. Although I trained in watercolours, there are certain advantages to painting with acrylics using watercolour techniques. The black ink is rendered overtop the acrylic paint, then reworked several times with more paint and ink. I will often blend and blur the ink, creating tonal values that are reminiscent of near photographic quality. This is a personal art style I developed over the years that was influenced by over 30+ years experience working as an artist and from studying art history. It has been a long progression of experimentation and combining art techniques and art mediums.

Much of the artwork I create is influenced by my experience with working in printmaking during my art school years, my long work association of creating artwork using pen & ink, working in silkscreening, and having an interest in history including the history of print and art in general. I owe a lot to the countless hours I have spent experimenting with various art techniques and mediums -- if I think up a new, untried art technique, I will give it a try on the off chance that it may work. I have discovered many methods and techniques over the years and now use these in my day-to-day art projects and commissions. Some of my best work came from showing no fear in the face of what others have told me is too difficult, too time-consuming, or impossible. It is only impossible if you never try.
